In this workshop, choreographer and director Anouk van Dijk introduces her approach to working with space as an active, performative element.
How does space shape the body?
How do bodies relate to one another within it?
And how can these relationships be shifted, sharpened, and redefined in performance?
Working through simple tasks, movement structures, and defined states, participants explore how the body can relate to itself, to others, and to the surrounding space. Rather than starting from fixed form or character, the work focuses on process: how small shifts in attention, direction, and intention can transform what is seen and experienced.
The workshop invites performers to heighten their awareness of spatial relationships and to develop a more precise, responsive presence, where interaction, timing, and proximity become compositional tools in themselves.
