Twenty years after the inception of the One Body One Career Countertechnique Intensive (OBOC), we are more than excited that OBOC is getting a sister event: Countertechnique Summer Special.

OBOC has been designed for professional dancers and dance students to delve in full-time for two weeks — for those who aspire to pursue long and healthy careers and want to dance until they drop.

Our shorter sister event, Countertechnique Summer Special, offers a thorough introduction to Countertechnique, with a lighter touch. It runs parallel to OBOC, at the same location as OBOC, featuring OBOC faculty, but with shorter hours - leaving more time to explore Amsterdam!

Short but sweet. Focused, but dosed.

For five half days, and one full day, you will be working with Countertechnique founder and artistic director Anouk van Dijk, and OBOC faculty members Senior Teacher Na-ye Kim, Countertechnique Teachers Eva Schaller and Francesca Dominguez, and last but not least, long-standing OBOC faculty, Teacher Alexander Technique Tom Koch!

Countertechnique Summer Special includes:
- Introduction to Countertechnique, in theory and practice
- Working with experienced Countertechnique teachers from our OBOC faculty
- Daily classes and reflection
- Tools for improvisation
- Building a personal toolbox
- Exchanges with like-minded dance and movement enthusiasts
- Q&A with Founder Anouk van Dijk
- Alexander Technique, pain management, and constructive rest
- Joining the plenary opening of OBOC Europe on 25 July,  and meet dance artists from around the world
- Invitations to drinks, social gatherings, and the closing sharing event of OBOC on 4 August

DATES

The Summer Special takes place across five afternoons and one full day:

25–29 July | 14:00–18:00
30 July | 10:00–18:00

This six-day, part-time workshop is organised by Countertechnique, in partnership with HJS Studio, at Chasse Dance Studio's in Amsterdam.

PROGRAM FEES

The full cost for the workshop is 500 EUR. Participation on a first-come, first-serve basis. Limited spots available, no scholarships.
