Dance Makers Collective’s Connect program is a 4-day intensive for early career artists and new graduates, designed to help them transition into the professional dance sector. Through classes and workshops in contemporary dance, self-producing, independent career management, improvisation and composition, artists will gain first-hand professional training, learn vital job-ready skills, and build valuable networks and support as they embark on a career in dance.
In 2025, we will host some exceptional leaders and artists from a broad cross-section of the sector including Rhiannon Newton, Azzam Mohamed, Shyamla, Madeline Harms, Omer Backley-Astrachan, a range of DMC members including Mitchell Christie, Miranda Wheen, Emma Harrison and Eliza Cooper, and panel discussions and presentations from the Detour network organisations (Sofie Burgoyne from STRUT Dance WA, Adam Wheeler from Tasdance, Frankie Snowdon from GUTS Dance NT) and more!
