In this three-day creative workshop Anouk van Dijk will share how Countertechnique tools can be implemented in the creative process, and how this has informed her choreographic oeuvre. Each day we will depart from working methods used for a specific work. On Day 1 we will work with the implications of a confined space (An Act of Now, 2012), on Day 2 with natural and constructed materials (Traces, 2019), and on Day 3 with uneven terrain and unpredictable natural elements (Depth of Field, 2015). Participants are invited to explore working on different sites that can be found in and around the house, and the workshop includes on- and offline work assignments. Although a short improvisation warm-up is provided, participants are encouraged to be warmed up before we start. All creative minds are invited!

Anouk van Dijk is the Founding Artistic Director of Countertechnique, and former Artistic Director of Chunky Move, one of Australia’s leading dance companies. Anouk currently works as a free-lance choreographer, director and teacher worldwide. Van Dijk has trained all 35 Countertechnique teachers to date.

Maximum participants per workshop: 30. Participants are accepted on a first come first serve basis.

This is a workshop series, which means the workshop is designed for participants who can attend all sessions in the workshop; you're not able to register for individual sessions.
